We all have been in this situation: You can’t get open your hotel room because the key card is demagnetized. Exactly this happened to me when I came back from breakfast.
We have all been in this situation: You can’t get open your hotel room because the key card is demagnetized.
I enter the lift, I press button 11, the lift stops, the door opens, I get off and go straight to my room door vis á vis. But the key card is not working, the lock just beeps and a red LED flashes. As this is happening the second time after yesterday evening, I get upset and I wonder if again I would have to make the whole way back down to the reception to ask for help.
Not so this time! I see an open door down the floor with a chamber maid making up the room. And I approach her asking if she would open my room door showing her my key card envelop with 1106 on it. She is so friendly and opens my room with a smile. Thank you and I am in.
The first thing I felt was wrong – the room smelled different. Second – my iPad was not in place and charging! Third – this is not my underwear! Gosh, I am not in my room! I leave it hastily. It was 1006, the lift stopped too early and I was on the 10th floor instead of 11th.
That’s just gone good for me this time, what if there was somebody in there? This is my first thought under shock. And the second: How easy would it have been for a real burglar to steal my iPad!
